TRACING MY PATH
FOCUS ON THE WRITER
Ups and downs? Twists and turns? HA! You don’t say?
Clarity and confusion. Full steam ahead and pump the brakes—all in one scene. Then life strolls in, takes a seat, and the plot thickens.
Is the Stress of Writing Self-Inflicted?
When the main character props his leather shoes on a desk I gave him, then smirks in silence—I start to wonder... am I doing this to myself?
The Brutal Middle Stage—Worse Than The Muddy Middle
Even the vultures don’t bother circling. That’s how bad it is.
The Brutal Middle Stage isn’t just about writing. It’s about burnout, boredom, and wondering why the hell you ever started this story in the first place.
Looking For Feedback
“So… what did you think?”
Silence.
“You read it, right?”
A slow nod.
“And?”
A shrug. “It was… nice.”
“Nice?” The word felt like a slap. “That’s it? That’s all you’ve got?”
A wince. “Uh—good job?”
How I Found My Voice as a Romantic Drama Writer
"I’ve got enough drama to write a book."
"Then write it!"
That’s how it started. But my writing voice wasn’t something I searched for—it was something life handed me. Relationships, family, lessons I didn’t ask for (but got anyway).
Romantic drama isn’t just what I write. It’s what I lived.
Why Write A Novel?
"What are you doing?"
"I’m writing a novel."
"Mmm hmm. Okay."
That’s how this started. What I didn’t realize was that writing the book was only one challenge. The other? Figuring out what to do while writing it.
A website. A blog. A web presence (whatever that means).
So here it is—the first post. The first step in a journey I didn’t even know I was taking.
